OLOKUN

Olokun es un Orisha que es fundamento de Ifá y de Osha y está relacionado con los secretos profundos de la vida y de la muerte. Olokun proporciona salud, prosperidad y evolución material. Es el Orisha del océano, representa el mar en su estado más aterrante, es andrógino, mitad pez mitad hombre, de carácter compulsivo, misterioso y violento. Tiene la capacidad de transformarse. Es temible cuando se enfurece. En la naturaleza está simbolizado por las profundidades del mar y es el verdadero dueño de las profundidades de éste, donde nadie ha podido llegar. Representa los secretos del fondo marino, ya que nadie sabe que hay en el fondo del mar, solo Olokun y Olofin. Representa además las riquezas del lecho marino y la salud. Olokun es una de las deidades más peligrosas y poderosas de la religión Osha-Ifá.
Se dice que Obbatalá lo encadenó al fondo del Océano, cuando intentó matar a la humanidad con el diluvio. Siempre se lo representa con careta. Su culto es de la ciudad de Lagos, Benin e Ilé Ifé.
Su nombre proviene del Yorùbá Olókún (Oló: dueño - Okún: Océano). Representa las riquezas del fondo del mar y la salud. En la regla de Ocha es uno de los principales que no le pueden faltar a los Olochas y Babalawós. Su culto principal es propiedad de los Babalawós que lo reciben con las 9 Olosas y las 9 Olonas además del Eshu característico. Las Olonas y Olosas son las ninfas del agua, representan los ríos, riachuelos, lagunas, cascadas, manantiales, charcos, extensiones marinas y el agua de lluvia.
No va a la cabeza de ningún iniciado y los Olochas lo reciben y lo entregan en una ceremonia que incluye ceremonias en monte, cementerio y mar, se realiza una canasta con mas de 21 miniestras y luego se baila la canasta. Conviven con Olokun dos espíritus Somú Gagá y Akaró que representan la vida y la muerte respectivamente. Ambos espíritus se hallan representados por una muñeca de plomo que lleva en una mano una serpiente (Akaró) y en la otra una careta (Somú Gagá).
Olokun puede ser entregado por Babalawos o Iworos, y la validez de ambos está reconocida. La tinaja de babalawo lleva adentro y está cubierta con conchas marinas para representar el fondo del océano. Habla a través de Orunmila con los ikines.
En Ifá el culto de Olokun se realiza junto con Oduduwa, en su relación y conjunción de la tierra con el mar.
Las diferencia principal entre el Olokun de Iworo (Santero) y el de Babalawo es que el de Babalawo no lleva agua. Se considera que el Olokun de Babalawo vive en el espacio vacío de rocas que existe entre el núcleo de la tierra y el agua de los océanos. Por lo cual no lleva agua. El de Iworo si lleva agua ya que su centro es Aggana Erí, la espuma del mar.

Su número es el 7 y sus múltiplos. Su colores son el azul, blanco o negro.

Ofrendas a Olokun:

Se le ofrenda maíz molido cocinado con ajó, cebolla y manteca, bolas de alegría de coco, ekó, melado de caña, porotos tape (fríjol de carita), carne de puerco, plátanos verdes fritos, berro, malarrabia, mazorcas de maíz, bolas de ñame sancochado, coco, azúcar negra, frutas, etc. Se le inmolan gallo blanco, pollos, palomas, ganso, pato, jicotea, gallina de guinea, carnero, carnera, cerdo, vaca y ternero. En las ceremonias complejas debe estar presente un Babalawo. Sus Ewe son copalillo del monte, guama hediondo, ratón de oro, romerillo, coralillo, hierba fina, cerrojo, culantrillo, anón, alambrillo, sauce, paragüita y normalmente lleva los Ewe de Yemayá.
